We tear down old sheds and haul every piece away — wood, metal, resin and barn-style. Contents cleared if you want them gone, concrete slab broken out when it is part of the job, and the footprint raked and swept before we leave. Shed Demolition and Removal Services We Provide

Every shed comes down differently depending on what it is built from and what shape it is in. These are the jobs we handle across Connecticut.

Wood Shed Demolition

Framed walls, shingled roofs and wood floors dismantled in sections. The most common shed in Connecticut backyards and the most labor to take apart.

Metal Shed Removal

Steel and aluminum panel sheds unbolted and flat-stacked. Panels go to scrap recycling rather than the landfill.

Plastic & Resin Shed Removal

Snap-together resin sheds are the fastest teardown of all — usually the same-visit, lowest-cost removal once we have seen the access.

Large & Barn-Style Shed Teardown

12×16 and up, lofted or two-story. More material, elevated roof work and several truckloads of debris. Crew-sized jobs.

Collapsed & Storm-Damaged Shed Cleanup

A shed that has already come down, plus the debris field around it. Priced on volume and cleanup rather than a standard teardown.

Shed Contents Cleanout

Mowers, tools, paint, patio furniture, bikes and a decade of stored junk cleared out in the same visit as the structure.

Slab & Foundation Removal

Concrete pads broken up and hauled to an aggregate recycler. Paver and gravel bases removed when you want the ground back.

Site Cleanup

Magnetic sweep and rake of the full footprint. Nails, screws, glass and splinters off the ground before we pull out.

Shed Movers vs. Shed Removal: Which One You Actually Need

People search for this a dozen ways — shed movers near me, shed movers in Connecticut, have my shed moved, what it costs to move a shed — and most of the time what they are describing is removal.

Moving a shed means lifting a standing structure and relocating it intact, either to another spot in the yard or to another address. That takes shed mules, cranes or specialized trailers, and it is a separate trade with its own pricing. It makes sense when the shed is in good condition and worth keeping.

Removing a shed means it comes apart and the material leaves for recycling and disposal. That is what we do, and for a shed at the end of its life — sagging roof, rotted corner, carpenter ants, full of things nobody has touched in years — it is almost always the faster and cheaper answer. If the plan is to get the old one off the property so something else can go there, removal is the job you are looking for.

How Our Shed Removal Process Works

A standard Connecticut shed takes one to three hours on site from arrival to truck departure.

  • On-site walkthrough and flat quote. We measure the shed, check the material, foundation and access, and confirm whether contents and the slab go too. You get the number before we touch anything.
  • Contents cleared first. If the shed is full, it gets emptied before demolition, with recycling and donation sorted out where we can.
  • Utilities made safe. Sheds with a run of electrical for lights or an outlet get confirmed dead at the source first. Unusual or unsafe wiring gets flagged for an electrician rather than cut.
  • Teardown, top down. Roof, walls, then floor, in sections. Metal and resin unbolt quickly; wood sheds are dismantled or demolished depending on condition.
  • Foundation handled. Concrete slab or paver base broken up and hauled when it is part of the job.
  • Hauled, sorted, recycled. Scrap metal, clean wood, shingles and concrete separated for recycling where facilities accept them. Landfill is the last resort, not the default.
  • Footprint swept. Raked and magnet-swept so there are no nails waiting for a lawnmower tire next spring.

What We Remove Along With the Shed

The shed is often one piece of a larger backyard project, and bundling it into a single visit costs less than booking each removal separately. Along with the structure we regularly take out above-ground pools, hot tubs, old fencing and deck debris, swing sets and trampolines, scrap lumber piles and general yard debris.

A few things we cannot take with the shed: paint, solvents, gas cans, pesticides, propane cylinders and car batteries all follow separate hazardous-waste disposal paths. Connecticut towns run household hazardous waste collection days for exactly that material, and we will point out anything in the shed that needs to go that route.

Shed Removal FAQs

Do I have to empty the shed before you remove it?

No. We can clear the contents and demolish the structure in one visit. Emptying it yourself first lowers the price, but it is entirely your call.

Do you remove the concrete slab under the shed?

Yes, when you want it gone. Slab removal is an add-on because broken concrete is heavy debris that goes to an aggregate recycler rather than into a general load. If something else is going in that footprint, leaving a sound slab in place is often the better move.

How long does shed removal take?

One to three hours on site for a standard shed. Large barn-style sheds, packed sheds and slab removal add time.

Can you get to a shed in a fenced backyard?

Usually, yes. Narrow gates, steep or soft yards and long carries mean material comes out by hand, which is what the difficult-access add-on covers. It rarely stops the job — it just changes the quote, and you will know that number before we start.

What happens to the shed material?

Scrap metal, clean untreated wood, asphalt shingles and concrete are separated for recycling wherever facilities accept them. Usable tools and equipment from inside get donated when they are in good shape.

Do you move sheds to a new location?

No. We remove sheds — teardown and haul-away for disposal and recycling. Relocating a standing shed intact is a different trade that needs shed mules or cranes. If your shed is done and you want it off the property, that is our job.
